ShipMyCards - USA Address and Shipping Service

Wonder what percentage of users are sitting deep in negative? I bet it's a huge amount.

i'd say not as much as in the past, they used to just trust people to get back into the positive credit once processed, now I think they lock your account until you are, so you can't continue to buy on the marketplace or see any info - good idea, must've been shit chasing up 50 people a day or week or whatever it was

Nothing worse than giving someone a loan or "credit" then being the bad guy for chasing them up

I'm actually wondering about this myself. I'm thinking of sending a load of cards to my SMC account to be broken down into singles, so I can sell them to people in the US for far cheaper shipping than sending from here.

For me, an extra $2 per card is a hit I can deal with in this instance, since SMC's US shipping is pretty well priced. But if I don't also have to pay $2 per card to break down a lot of like 100 cards, that would be great

I think this is the way to go.

I was gonna go probstein otherwise..

I have tried changing my address on ebay us and it says "The shipping address you added does not match postal service records."
My address I input:
ShipMyCards C/O ""
591 E Plaza Cir Unit 2294
Litchfield Park, AZ, 85340
US

It gives me this alternate address:
ShipMyCards C/O ""
591 E Plaza Cir Unit 2294
Litchfield Park, AZ, 85340-7691
US

Is this address okay to use?

Hey guys, first time shipping home from SMC and have a few questions. Any help you could provide would be very helpful.

1. Inventory Size: I've got 6 PSA slabs, 6 top loaders and 1 hoops premium mega box. Just wondering if anyone has shipped home an amount similar to this? Would it be better for me to ship this home now, or to add a few more cards etc in order to save more money? Just wondering what the breakdown is as far as how big your inventory should be in order to maximise splitting the cost amongst all your items.

2. Customs: On the FB page I noticed a lot of people saying they declare US customs value of $60-80. What's the logic here? What are the pros/cons of declaring a higher or lower amount? Why not declare what your cards are actually worth?

3. Insurance: At what point do you add insurance on? I couldn't see it as an option on the request shipping page.

This will be my first time organising anything like this so I really have no idea what I'm doing.

1. In my experience, there's not a flat rate for shipping. It's based on the actual weight of what you're shipping. So adding more items will make the shipping cost higher with each item. I've shipped varying amounts and found the shipping cost stays fairly correlated with the total number of cards sent.

2. Not sure if, or how, this affects the shipping cost. I haven't seen it broken down in the shipping fee.

3. Again, in my experience, insurance has been added at the shipping request stage. You nominate an amount which pre-determines the insurance cost to be added to the yet-to-be-calculated shipping cost, then you get the actual total shipping cost once it's worked out.

I am waiting on one more of my ebay orders to be uploaded to my inventory and I will also be shipping my stuff back for the first time!!

I had a similar inventory size to you but decided to wait a while. Now I have 36 Boxes, 15 packs, 4 slabs and about 15 singles!

Bit scared of what I am about to get slugged ;)

Not sure why $60 to $80 exactly. My understanding from what I have heard, is that your value needs to be less than $1000AUD to avoid GST. I don't know what difference $60 - $80 would make?

Holy Sh*t. 36 boxes? All Prizm?

I've currently got 15 boxes, 74 packs (still growing) and about half a dozen singles but I won't be bringing them all back in one hit. I'm thinking they will be spread over about 5 or more shipments.

How much money do you estimate you're saving by buying the boxes over there as opposed to here? Obviously the cost of the box itself is significantly cheaper (e.g. my Hoops Premium Mega cost $120 AUD and the cheapest I've seen by re-sellers here is $280 ~ $160 difference) but when adding in the cost of insurance and then shipping, what are you hoping for?

Presuming that's why you've bought over there instead of buying here...

Probably $50-100 per item.

I will just be holding most of them so we can revisit that saving in a few years.

Ok...I have requested my first shipment home.
