This is a thought. But I think the sender sstill has to declare 'trading cards' as the items being sent over, regardless of listed as either gift, merchandise etc.
I personally think things will go back to the way they were a few months back.
Customs don't have the capacity to scrutinise every trading card shipment coming in. In my experience, what occurred was a standard short burst operation to keep shippers like us on our toes. Chatter about shipments...
