yeah not good mate, definetely not the way to treat his own customers..

He seems to get a bit s***y when you ask questions, like a few weeks ago when i asked about AFL sig prices and told him i wasn't planning to buy them on that visit.. As a business owner he needs to calm down and respect his customers otherwise in the future he won't have any customers to respect!

wow that is amazing im from bunbury 2 hours south of perth ive been to al's when ever i get to perth since collecting thinking 3 times in total and all 3 times they have been so well hearted that is unreal, theres no excuse but u can clearly see the retails side of things are taking there toll..

CRikey, i take it that your not going back there again!! not that it sounds like he would let you back in anyway!!

It seems he has some serious issues, he wont last long. Sounds like the shop has some major financial issues and mental ones LOL.

My head is still spinning about it !

From what I was told in the shops early days in Fremantle ,The shop was originally set up by Len and Alan Errickson (Supplier who was an american baller who is like a WA State league HOFer) Len has always been a bit blunt but never quite that rude to me but I have overheard him talking about other people quite badly in the past
My last comment to him was perhaps a change of name so Al does not get a bad one

I haven't been down for a while due to working away, but every time I've been down they've been friendly as, and would have a bit of a yarn about the footy or whatever. Personally I haven't asked them to budge on a price at all, and almost every time they've knocked the price down themselves. So no bad experience for mine.

same, never had a problem. Len has actually gone out of his way a few a times to track down cards for me and has given them to me for free. never had a problem there EVER. i hope this does not deter other collectors from going to Al's. i have always found them to be very friendly and helpful.

I've never had a problem as a customer. I remember they've been quite helpful in regards to certain things in the past (offering to track a card down and also help me with a quality assurance request with Panini). But i do have to say that yes the prices especially on NBA product arent the best. Like most collectors (like yourself Terry) sometimes i will buy of them just to support the local business.

Can't say I've ever had a problem. I've asked about prices and even asked for help with things like ultra pro one touches and they have always been very friendly and helpful.

Sorry to hear you had an issue there though Terry.

You should do the opposite. Everyone you know should go in there, pick out big cards, ask about a price then ask him for 10% of what he is offering, saying you can get it much cheaper than what he is offering. Get a whol ebunch together and just loiter together inside his shop for a long long time touching everything and opening everything, then just leave without buying anything.

My hairdresseder taught me that one. He had a problem with a TV and refused to do anything, got his family (Lebanese.....large and big family) to go into the shop, started talking loudly, had everyone staring......then the guys at the shop decided to be nice and give a replacement.

Bring in your cards and ask him if he wants them for a large sum as well!

Ersk

I haven't been there for a few months and he has been ok to me every time I've been, but he is a big gambler, the last time I was there he was on and off the the phone nearly the whole time I was there

..... but he is a big gambler, the last time I was there he was on and off the the phone nearly the whole time I was there

Maybe he had a Big Tip he was supposed to bet on that day but someone was looking very keen to buy some expensive cards, never bought them in the end and the horse won at big odds!!!!!!!!!

The next one who came in was always gonna cop it!!!!!!!!!!
