great game! port deserved the win as geelong played pretty bad on the game except the last quarter. its a good lose for geelong anyway becoz it prevents them from getting over confident on the road to the finals.

Steal the game???????????? turn it up chestnut ...port were in front all day........if geelong won they would have stolen it.....

The bubble has burst.....geelong only got back in the game when ablett came back on the ground in the last quater.....(1 man team) if he gets injured at all in the finals geelong wont win another game, they look very very very ugly when he isn't on the field.

Being a Port supporter I was on the edge of my seat all afternoon. I picked Geelong which probably spoiled me getting 8 out of 8 for the first time too lol.

I wouldn't want to have that game over again as we have a bad tenancy of trying to sit on 3 goal leads, and thus nearly get beaten. Of all the people to kick that goal I wouldn't have expected it to be Dom either.

Forward line was average for Port most of the afternoon. Kane Cornes was supurb shutting down Joel Corey and grabbing plenty of the pill for himself. Shaun Burgoyne was supurb from stoppages. Charlie Chaplin played a key role when Wakelin went down.

At the start of the year just the word finals I would have been happy with, but this WOW!

Cannot belive that happened. Gary Ablett's goal was one of the best of the year and then for the win to be taken away.....just wastn right.

It will be toted at the loose the cats needed....but still cant believe it hapened!

You'll only get that if Hawthorn lose and they are playing a bazillion times better than an injury Riddled Sydney atm.

But I want Eagles to win because I want to finish 4th. I want to play Geelong - even if we lose - its better for our aspirations than travellling back from SA or WA....

But on a serious note... I do not condone the use of any drugs but I'd rather it be illicit than performance enhancing - even then ban the bastard I don't even care if its Luke Hodge.

I'd be a hypocrite for wanting Cousins banned if I didn't want the same for my own clubmen - but then they haven't broken AFL rules (3 strikes)... and the 7 Network is scum for buying stolen information.

To have 12-13 shots on goal is not a shit game....but just sit kicking when you only kick 2 goals

Yeah it was a crazy game but alround a good result for everyone i guess. Port desreved to win and geelong needed to lose 1 so probably worked out well for both. But still, what a big win down there at skilled. Both teams are gonna be very hard to beat come finals.

He also had something like 6-8 goal assists, which is great considering he was offline, he managed ot help his club in other ways.

Yeah I watched the whole game. I felt after Geelong got the first two goals they switched off a bit. From then on in we pretty much had control of it, kicking the next 5. It pretty much see-sawed from then on in with Port holding a buffer till late in the last quarter, when Ablett Jnr kicked that fantastic goal to put them 1 up.

If Port were to play that game with Bartel playing though they would have lost for sure, but you have to play the team that is out there hey.

Am I going too far as to say it was about as good as a Sydney vs West Coast game?
