Just want to see what are the general thoughts on these guys are.... Possible all stars or over rated?

Like them both and looking at picking up a couple key rc's of them, before I do, just wanna see what everyone thinks....

1. Luol Deng

2. Andre Iguodala

both future all-stars for sure

Iguodala can do everything, and with Iverson gone, its his team now, i see him this season at 21-5-5

Deng has a much better team around him, but hes the offensive focal point (With Gordon) and he will probably put up about 24-7-4 this season

just my 2c :)

They are both potentially all-stars next year... but one of them probably won't be since, Garnett, Pierce and Ray ray will be considered all-stars depending on their health and their ranking.. it's hard to be an all-star in EAST this season as well, like last year, Deron, Baron Davis and a few more missed all-star game even there were alot of injured players in WEST.

Shaq is no matter what all-stars... so is Lebron James, so first 5 spots are pretty much fixed... most probably Garnett, Carter, Kidd...

They both are very young and very good players.. Chicago has big hobby towards basketball, but i like Deng's game much better... I think he's going to be chicago franchise player for a long time, but another funny coincidence.. He was forward from Duke, I like all the former Duke forwards on their work ethic and low profile off the court... as well as good performance on the court..

:)

For sure both players show all the signs to be future all stars.... Deng is a threat for the bulls and has shown his ready to step up! He does have a better cast along side him but will shine!!!!

Iggy will be huge this year and showed signs through his career already... his gonna be a star this year...

Two of the best young players in the Eastern Conference and the NBA.

I'd prefer Andre Iguodala, and he say he is a much better player, but only for one main reason.

Andre Iguodala is playing for a Philadelphia team with no established scorers (Andre Miller is not included because he's point guard). So I find it phenomenal that he was able to put up 18-5-5 last season despite not playing with a superstar for half the season. He's also not one dimensional and is a great athlete who does a bit of everything, and he can shoot, pass, drive and defend.

Luol Deng on the other hand is a great all round prospect who does it all also, but I find he's not on the same level athletically and physically as Iguodala, and a lot of his points are a result of playing with established offensive players like Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich. But both are great.

Put Al Jefferson up there with those young players.

Josh Smith will be better than all of them if he can get a jump-shot, defensively and athletically, and offensively he's nearly at the same level as Iguodala (he is defensively and athletically) and he is one proper jump shot away from dominating the league.

I think Deng has a more polished all-round game. Iggy is less consistent and more highlight reel, but he's still got game. He doesn't seem as comfortable as Deng when it comes to taking over a game.

agree with jim!!! deng is a great player but iggy is just a bit better and josh smih is just a beast and with a jump shot you are looking at all nba second team

Yes.. same as i mentioned above..

Deng is very solid player.. compared to Iggy, but in hobby perspectives, I am not so sure.. coz i do not invest on any player, i collect what i want, and i keep what i want..

Yes.. actually Big Al and Josh Smith are awesome players, and i think Big Al might have a big break with Wolves.... he's so young and will be able to get more stats in wolves...

Disagree.

Deng only looks comfortable taking over because he rarely has to do it, and he's comfortable with Ben Gordon constantly taking the defensive attention off him.

If he was the only scorer in Philadelphia like Iguodala is for the 76ers he would have really struggled this past season.

Def. future all-stars!

Deng is superb a leader one day.

AI2 won't be much better than he was last year, but he'll be consistent.

Sorry for the double post guys, but I'll have to argue with you on this one Scotty.

Let's wait and see, but I think Iguodala will only continue to get better, and that within 5 seasons he'll be one of the top 3 swingmen in the NBA.

Honestly, he can pass, dribble, score, shoot, defend, steal, block, the kid can do it all, and he's still young.

I think we will see in very soon seasons 24-6-6 from Andre Iguodala.

He cant really shoot all that well Jim, not sure where you are getting that from....Deffinately a weak point in his game

That's cool Jim, we're not all going to agree with everything.

24-6-6?? Kobe Bryant puts up those numbers, Lebron James' is another......Iggy's no Kobe/Lebron.

Iggy took off last season as he had to prove that he could handle the reigns, as if he couldnt the Sixers would have had to either:

A - move him

B - get someone else in to take over

Both would have hurt his future. So he had no choice but to rip it up, like he did.

I still think we'll see similar numbers from him, but he won't get much better.

Fair enough, just his athletic ability is out of this world, and he is really going to get better.

But we'll see aye, I just happen to believe he'll be one of the best 3 swingmen in the NBA within 5 seasons.

The kid is ready to put up 20+ easy. :worthy:

45% from the field, 82% from the line, that's pretty good for a young guy taking 60%+ of the shots on a crap team.

He can't shoot the three great, at 31% this past season, but he's never made less than 45 in a season and he's a career 33% three point shooter.

His shooting isn't terrible, if he can continue to improve in that aspect he'll be better than some of the best swingmen now, because he actually plays defense.

I think you guys are selling Iggy short!

He isnt, and probably never will, a huge scorer; at this stage 20 points per game would to be the limit (depending on what style the Sixers play), but he will grab around 8 boards a game, and around 6 assists I reckon.

Deng is a very nice piece of the puzzle in Chicago not the solo star, and therefore he will keep grabbing boards; probably 6, 7 or 8, and passing out assists, probably 3 or 4, but wont increasing his scoring much more than 25 unless he becomes the main focus of the offense. That said, he SHOULD be the main focus, with Kirk and Benny G feeding off the double teams he will command.

It will be interesting to see what happens with these young stars, as well as Philadelphia's Louis Williams, Minnesota's new toys of Gerald Green and Al Jefferson (they will average 40-45 points between them this year) and I reckon Darko will really improve next to a big guy who commands respect away from the basket - Double Double for Darko this year!

45% from the field doesnt make him a good shooter...Hes a great slasher, finisher in the lane, but that doesnt make him a good shooter...Kinda like Dwyane Wade, awesome at getting to the rim and finishing but not a really good shooter
