2022 TLA NRL Elite Official Thread - Checklist Added

I don't think the All Stars Jersey concept is bad overall, it's just these days most people are team collectors and for me unless it's a Panthers card its not something I would really look at buying.
I think the addition of a lot more NRLW cards this year will also be interesting to see how its received.
My thoughts are that NRLW cards would seem to make more sense in Traders or even the Best and Less/Rivalry sets as these are more affordable for younger collectors especially girls who may want to start collecting.
I just don't see many young girls shelling out $10 for a pack trying to chase NRLW cards in elite.
You can have NRLW cards in Elite and there is a place for them, but this release is more geared towards the higher end collectors and I can see some people not being impressed when they pull a League Sensation Team Auto for one of the NRLW teams as the case hit.
As it stands, 180 out of 660 cases (more than 1 in 4 cases) will have an NRLW Team League Sensation as the major hit.

Those 180 Cases should also have either an All-Stars Signature Booklet or Fittler Masters Series Signature as well though?
Of course you are correct....... they should also be taken into account along with all the other numbered inserts, but there is a possibility (and again this is all down to collation and WNRL cards now taking up more than 1/4 of the signature sets - 6 cards out of 22 - YG/LSW/LSB/LST) you could potentially get from a case:
1 x All Stars Booklet or Fittler
1 x NRLW LS Team
A mix of NRLW LS or YG signatures along with NRL players.
Now this is probably a worst case collation scenario (and I'm 100% sure if I were buying a case this would be the one I get) but it is still a possibility.

A Wnrl ball patch ruins the series for me . Would prefer another Darius Boyd
Really puzzles me the thought process and selection of cards . The Fittler Masters is about the only thing I’m interested in personally. Really disappointed in the all star wnrl ball patch card as I’ve collected all the previous cards . Also think a grand final ball would of been more appealing than the all star ball if they had to go that way
Like last year I’ll probably still get one to complete the subset , only positive is they will be a lot cheaper than previous years .

Interesting to see if the women signers were payed the same as the men , and if not how they can justify the same case prices ?

Old men whinge,your just stating the obvious. Four or five years ago I would chase as many auto,s as possible,now my son said stop chasing s..t players and buy cards that have a good chance of holding their value.You sound like him Joel.Oh his name is Joel also.Everyone has different views on each release,and that's what we need.When Elite is released in about 8 weeks,lets see a flood of cards on here of your favorite cards you have obtained.

Really like the early NSW Fittler masters though .
My Nans cousin did our family tree years ago and “apparently” we are related somehow , bit of a family joke , but be keen to grab them .
Probably have to chance the Boyd ones from last year now to keep the subsets going .

I agree with what's said above, Elite is the premier set of the season aimed at the top end collectors.
I collect only Warriors, did get NRLW cards. But once they went to autos I canned it as I was still
chasing mojos and my card money only goes so far. Guys who buy cases think well if I don't get
the hits I want, I can always move them on pretty quickly for most teams (a few sort after clubs you'd
get overs, some of the lesser clubs not so good a price). Sell or trade, but now I think there's going to be
too many hit cards that aren't going to be that desirable. Will be interesting for sure....

Think you’re 100% right .Was hard to recoup unless you had some good number hits or top players as it was.
Most collectors asked for change because they are tired of the same old same old ,so TLA change it up and get baged for doing that ...WOW

I think you’re looking at it from someone that has a vested interest in the products point of view mate .
Not sure I’ve ever seen anyone say they wanted a elite series with a flood of womens cards ever on any platform though .I think you’ll find it’s what I mentioned about going all pc like the rest of the world . Just crazy when you have so little teams and interest to go as heavy with them .
When they put the case price up nearly $500 people have a right to comment,as you said , the last 2 years have been costly for everyone and they want the most bang for their buck.
I understand you are never going to please everyone with any product and I don’t think the comments are personal against anyone , just consumer feedback . Maybe they could have a link on the website with suggestions that collectors want to see and people could vote on it ? Maybe that’s a stupid idea but can’t see how it could hurt ?
I do think the Fittler cards look really good though and will be sort after.
For anyone interested, I've done up some rough numbers regarding inserts and serial numbered hits, etc. See below. Priority assumes 1 x YG White and 2 x Dally M per box which seems the most likely and I've seen other echo this thought however, this is absolutely NOT confirmed. Similarly, the priority numbers are ESTIMATES only.

TLA is traditionally pretty focused on mass appeal, given they seem compelled to represent every club equally in every insert set no matter how ordinary the player selections are.
Surely if they got to design insert sets that reflected public/collector interest, there’d be a SuperCoach guns set, $1 million contracts set, high end origin cards every year.
I think some of the flat response to this set is also because Traders was pretty strong this year, with some cool looking cards; M&A, club hero case cards, creators. Off the flyer, nothing about Elite pops aside from Freddie - and some of that is due to Darius being such a poor player selection last year.

Agreed, the golden ticket is a disgrace, would be almost acceptable if it was for a black diamond set at least, or even all the sigs for that team
