Hey guys.. I sold this card on eBay about a month ago and the buyer has claimed it has not arrived, so eBay has issued them a refund which now leaves me with no $ and no card. If anyone sees it about then please let me know. Thanks

P.S I did post with tracking but it has never updated. Either I stuffed up a number or they never scanned it. Click here to see.

I had the same problem with tracking. The card sat in there sorting department for over 2 weeks.I got in touch with someone at Australia post, gave them the tracking number, within 2 days she found the card and it was delivered.Try ringing them,it might take a while to get through, but maybe they can help.

Yeah I sent them an email and requested a phone call but I might have to be more direct. Thanks for the advice

Earlier this year I sent something to Luxembourg just before covid really kicked off.

The package was tracked for a few weeks until it paused in Customs in Brussels for some reason, which is a different country of course.

It sat there for almost two months - nothing. By this time the buyer opened item not received case with eBay, and we know how good that is for sellers. Buyer eventually got a refund a few months after purchase.

I was now out the cash and the items, and since Aus Post were taking well over a month to answer any claims at that point, I decided to contact Luxembourg customs to see if they'd seen it after all. They hadn't.

So I had to basically manually track this parcel (starting from buyer's local post office and working backwards) around Europe for another month or so, eventually getting an automated response from Brussels customs.

Even Aus Post gave up and literally said once it's overseas it's not their problem and closed the case, even though I obviously paid them to ensure it gets delivered to the buyer. DO NOT RELY ON AUS POST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Lo and behold, within 24 hours of contacting Brussels the item's tracking updated and it took a few more days until the buyer got it. When it was delivered to the buyer, he eventually repaid for the item, which was a nice surprise. This was almost 5 months after I first sent the package.

Global shipping has definitely levelled out in the past few months, but I have absolutely no doubt that mail systems everywhere are absolutely swamped.

Hope it turns up for you mate.

Damn what a story.. Im glad it turned out well for u in the end!. I got a hold of auspost today and she said they can’t open a case because they need 21 business days to pass.. but even if it doesn’t update then I cant get compensation because I didnt keep the little sticky tab thingy. I said why when I can pull it off and throw the envelope in the bin and say I sent it.. and then she said well we rely on good faith that you do send it but only if u keep the tab.. I nearly lost it haha.. but anyway she told me it might get updated this week once it’s actually in NT so fingers crossed.. the lesson I’ve learnt is don’t post in street post boxes.. not worth the hassle if it’s slow😔

Thought I’d update the situation. On Wednesday the tracking updated to delivered. I thought how good! I’ll get the refund I paid, back instantly. Oh how wrong was I. I messaged the buyer and told him the tracking is saying delivered so if he could please pay me back. The buyer claims he won’t be home for a couple of days and can’t pay until he receives. I tried to explain that the whole reason he got refunded was because the tracking number never updated. Sensed it was a waste of time so I tried contacting eBay and appeal the initial refund, I highlighted the fact it was now delivered. It got rejected. So now I have a chat with eBay. They tell me It’s because I reached out to the buyer for reimbursement. At this point I want to pull my hair out. It’s not even about the $$$ anymore lol. So yesterday I sent him a quick msg and then yeah more crap. So I thought this is bullshit and msged eBay again today. eBay cannot get the refund back. They have to rely on the buyer for that. Who has 2 feedback btw. They have no way of charging him but they were pretty quick to pull the funds from my PayPal. I asked what if he is shady and just claims it wasn’t delivered.. takes the card and his money. And they told me they have no way to verify if he is shady or not. Sheesh. Lesson definitely learnt with this one. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I know I’m impatient lol but if it was me, then I would have paid the seller back instantly

jeez mate that is shit - unfortunately you’re at the mercy of the buyer’s honesty.

If there’s one piece of advice regarding selling on eBay, it’s never do ANYTHING unless eBay force you to.Always wait for the buyer to initiate anything, and ALWAYS wait for eBay to make a decision. I’ve also learnt that the hard way.

Hopefully you get the cash back.

Thanks mate. I’m not holding my breath tho.
