Dominance 2020 (series 2) discussion thread

Once its processed it heads to straight to the delivery centres and goes on board for delivery. If you want it to stay in Melbourne then enjoy waiting for it to come for three weeks lol

Well explain another of my tracked items. Posted Ringwood East, went to Sydney, now back to Melbourne Monday. Yet to come to Delivery area. Is that "straight to the delivery centres and goes on board for delivery".

What Aus Post need is some serious competition.

I had an item posted registered from a Sydney suburb on 28 August and it's still showing as not having moved any further than the post office. Lost?

Packages can sit in delivery centres now for up to 3 days. You and every bloke in Australia are waiting for packages. Can only deliver so many a day. You should be patient.

Next time pay an extra 20$ for a courier.

Same wait periods for packages leaving Victoria?

I had a package take 2+ days to travel to a postal center 15 minutes away from its original location lol, at that rate I shouldn't expect it to hit WA till the end of the month.

Hey all,
Want to get everyone thoughts, do you think non-signature cards will hold their value in 20/30 years time? Especially with the increase of different variants like influentials, show stoppers, footy finest, dominance etc. Do you think people are gonna pay the price people are paying now for the same card just because it’s a limited number in say 30 years. My personal opinion is they’re going to significantly devalue. I think a lot of people aren’t thinking long term because at the end of the day, it’s an investment. You wants cards to be worth something. I think Captain sigs, brownlow booklets, supremacy signatures will hold value n potentially rise.
What is everyone else’s thoughts on this?

Really hard to say really, no one can predict that far out in all honesty.

I think it will come down to which particular players, some will devalue and stay quiet low. I don't see the same happening for future hall of famers like Shuey, Fyfe, Martin, Danger, Kennedy and so forth....maybe not increasing on the level of a "investment" if coming purely from a money making point of view. If you are more a collector because you love to do it, I think you would be fine.

Personally I just love collecting and have zero intention to ever sell "for profit", so whatever value they may have in 30 years has no bearing on me

I am a collector and not in it for the profit taking. But I don’t want to pay for example $500+ for a Ben Cunnington influential that will be worth maybe $50 in 30 years because it’s not signed n few other factors. Just because you love the cards, is it worth paying massive amounts of money when it’s just going to devalue. Am I better off keeping the cards that have sentimental value and may hold their value?

Easy answer

Yes I'm very happy with doing that because my cards have no value as I never intend to sell no matter how the market is but paying $500 for a card that may be worth $50 in 30 years to me is a bargain! It means I've essentially paid $15 a year for those 30 years to have the satisfaction of owning one of those cards. Which is peanuts compared to other hobbies/ interests one can have.

I have a weekender car that destroys my wallet on a level that cards will never come close to reaching

That last question is entirely up to you.

and there is also a value to searching for and purchasing the card you want, i was going to also reply saying there is a value to having the card and enjoying the fact that you have it
