Fair enough as I was too! Was just trying to point out an easier alternative so it looks as my original ideas seem to be not too far off lol

Issues with changing to a jersey signature per club would be 1. That the Road to the Finals theme would have to be scrapped even though the designs changed significantly from 15 to 16 Elite. Issue 2 would be if you went say 50 per club that is an extra 600 high end signatures on the market for an already overburdened and struggling hobby.
With the closeness of the comp we will have had 10/16 teams represented in the jersey sigs in 3 seasons (assuming both Canberra and GC get one in 17 Elite). While this seems to harsh to collectors of other teams 4/6 are huge chances of being in the 8 this year and getting one in 2018. Instead of duplicating two teams that have already had jersey cards that could just do 100 and make them twice as hard to get in 17 Elite.
Just on issue 2 I have enjoyed adding all these extra Raiders signatures to my PC since ESP took over but it is a double edged sword that is really killing the value of cards and the overall collectibility.

It is slowly turning towards American sport cards where they have upto 14 different versions of the one card
I don't mind the look of that, my OCD would want 9 as that will be one player per page

Have to remember though this sport doesn't have an American sized following and appetite for collectibles. There is only so much money in the hobby. I spent doubled my budget last year getting my Raiders PC, not really because of prices (sapphire mojo aside) but more because of sheer volume. I have heard that all 17 releases are going to have 'more value' which equates to more cards
Every now and then when I get real bored with having not much on my wants list I look at NBA and then resist the urge.
Was also thinking of starting a very slow set of 08 centenary as I love that stuff

I want to fill in a few holes in my 16 collection , I really liked the captains subset last year and would like to finish that off

with esp doing the Sharks Signature Series after the grand final win, I would like to see this as repeated for next years winners I thought it was a great idea
I would also like to see them do a di-cut card subset (not a jersey styled one) for something different and bring back the coach card in the commons

Have to remortgage the house to put together a Raiders PC this year!!
If as rumoured there are signature cards in PP I hope they are via redemption, hate to see a signature card in the playground!!

Fingers crossed they continue along the vein they are now where it seeming to be different players with signature cards in the upcoming releases.

Do centenary
I can't imagine any NRL release will maintain and increase in value like this.
For anyone wanting to start a master Centenary I do have a spare folder, with Gladiator card, base set, full set of Holofoil Club Logos, 30/32 past heroes, full set TOTC, 6/7 Immortals, 6 TOTCFS (including Chook & Gaz) and 3 Immortal sketches. Not desperate to move but if the right offer came along who knows....

To collect all the St George cards released and clear out the hordes of non PC and doubles I have cluttering my office.

Still chasing a Dugan SAS sig.

What was your highlight in collecting in 2016?
No white whales struck of my wants this year but I did add the couple of cards I needed to complete my 1977 and 1982 sets.
Your biggest disappointment in 2016?
Cronulla winning the comp.

An unnecessary, but seemingly inevitable increase, in the number of cards I will need to add to my St George PC (thank god the dragons didn't make the finals last year)

Mine is not what I would like them to do different but what I would like them not to do differently.........to long and off topic for the collecting goals thread I think.

2) Get all the cards i've set aside for IPs signed (same as last year)
3) Fill any gaps in sets from previous years

Yes. Nothing specific, i'll just keep an eye out for cards I need when they're at a good price.
What was your highlight in collecting in 2016?
1) Getting all the Knights cards in the Elite release (I got very lucky. I genuinely didn't think i'd be able to get 1 of the mojo's let alone both of them)
2) Getting the majority of my Joey Johns cards signed via TTM
Your biggest disappointment in 2016?
1) Not being able to get all the IPs I had set aside signed (Snowden, Uate in particular)
2) Being wooden spooners again
