That will do me, KD signs with the Warriors

Katrina, I here you on this. You will here a mix of opinions but mine is... if KD is the reason your loving hoops then follow the man and keep cheering him on.
Embrace the soft spot for OKC, drobfan8 is correct, if you were born and raised in Oklahoma then different story, enjoy cheering him on wherever he goes, great baller

Guys can i ask a question? I have recently only starting following the NBA basketball when KD had come into the comp, 1st starting with the Supersonics then Okc. He was the main reason for me liking the sport and I have also collected everything with his name on it but after today I really can not stop following him just because he's leaving and now going to be playing with the Warriors. Do I leave Okc as well and start following the Warriors just because he's now at that club or do I stay with Okc? It sounds like a stupid question to ask but has any of you guys ever changed teams just because your favourite player goes elsewhere? I have been thinking about this all day and it's driving me crazy? I would never ever stop following the mighty Broncos even if they were last on the ladder but with the basketball I am unsure? Help needed, Katrina.

I always had a soft spot for Minnesota even when KG was at Boston and Brooklyn but I have zero love for the Nets and limited for Boston now. I say follow the player if that's what got you into NBA and if you like any other teams you like them (side PC maybe?) and if you don't you don't!

Definitely understand what you went through. When LeBron left ... I still followed Cleveland, whilst also having a particular interest in wherever Melo played (NYK)...Over time I think when you stick with one team it's more rewarding when they reach accomplishments and being there for their journey especially as a HUGE Kyrie fan from day 1 (Missing the playoffs 4 straight years, Winning 3 draft Lotteries and still being unable to win more than 33 games in a season, Having to watch players like Ryan Hollins/Alonzo Gee/Tyler Zeller/Clark start, Having to watch a nutcase in Andrew Bynum play for you, Watching all the injuries to Varejao and the inconsistencies that came with the young squad we had.....Winning against OKC one night and then losing to Philly the next night, Watching players like Livingston and Speights thrive in Golden State and winning a championship after they played for us and were mediocre) ...But in the end the journey was all worth it to see the Cavs winning the championship for a city that has gone through so much over the last 52 years and for it be delivered by their prodigal son! :) Thats what dreams are made of :kick:

Nothing beats that , particularly if your a big underdog fan like me. Though KD leaving hurts OKC and possibly Westbrook, in the long run they will be back again one and if you stick with them all the way... The day they win a championship....Nothing will beat that feeling of loyalty you had during the tough times :hearts: IMO what Kobe Bryant said sums it up =D>

Thanks guys for letting me know why we all follow this great game. No doubt I will still follow KD until he finally hangs up his boots no matter who he plays for and i think i will still follow Okc as a team. Durant's my main man but Okc is where it all started for me and i am guessing that i will stay with them as well, Katrina.

All i can say about KD is massive weak move, i would never in a million years would have thought he would have chossen GS.

No longer a fan of KD
This move has changed everything i thought of Kevin.

Not mad at him leaving, but to pic GS wow i really disliked the guy instantly. Wow jus wow

That's the one.

Although Pau was going to HOU.

Still, Odom, Scola and Dragic isn't awful, I wonder who that pick became?

Mainly it was Cuban that helped veto this, he whinged and whined and got his way.

It was Dan Gilbert way more than it was Mark Cuban. Cuban just supported him vocally and was far more out spoken to the media on it!

I can't wait for next season. Gonna be hugely entertaining, especially to see how the other teams end up looking and how they play vs the Warriors!
Guy can do what he wants, glad I'm not angry about stuff like this  enough stuff out there in real life

I don't understand all the hate. What exactly has Durant done "wrong" and why is it is "weak move"?

I think it's because traditionally, players are meant to stick with their teams and try to bring the championship to the city that they spent their careers in. It was generally more acceptable that players on the tail end of their careers would try to join championship contenders to get a chance to win. LeBron changed that with his move to Miami and then Cleveland. I think that this is the new normal, but I think people are still stuck in the old mindset that you had to stick with the same franchise your whole career. Why did the players do it back before The Decision? Well, for one, the salary cap and luxury tax certainly made it very difficult to get "super teams" together, so generally, most teams had one superstar player and a select few of them had two. With the cap they have now, it's so much more viable to get more superstar talent on a single team.

I think people are also really more surprised with the KD move because they had beaten the Spurs in the semis who had the second best record in the league, then had GSW on the ropes with 3-1 lead and then just couldn't get the job done. The Thunder were legit contenders as they are right now, and just needed to tweak their lineup to keep contending for several more years. The city of Oklahoma are the ones who are the most angry because the Thunder go from being challengers to now being a lottery team over the next few years.

Howard Beck Durant has been claiming it was frustration with Westbrook that paved the way for him to look for other opportunities - ie, Westbrook being unable to figure out when to be the man or delegate to others

Weak move i mean joining a team that is already a championship team.

I really thought KD had more pride and class than to joing an already chip team.

Im definitely not alone in this he's lost alot of fans with this move i guarantee it, and im not talking about Okc fans either just bball fans alone.

I cant understand all the weak move stuff you may only get one chance to win a title
so good on him for doing whats best for him and his family.
he gave Oklahoma so many great years another reason maybe that his family will
like living in san Francisco and who could blame them for that.
You see it in so many sports where great players don't win a premiership or title
and I really cant see why its so bad for someone to want to win one before they
retire.

What's the difference between Durant leaving and Aldridge going to the championship pedigree Spurs?

Aldridge?? Spurs?? What???
If you dont see or feel what KD has done with this decision theres no point of going on about it.

You either liked/didnt care or hated that he went to GS imo i hate he chose them.

With reports saying that Durant didn't want to work with Westbrook anymore so needed to leave. What team would you guys have been ok with him going to?
