I was wondering if its at all possible to get a thread going where sellers who ship damaged cards can get their own hall of fame for dodgy practices?

This being spurred on from my recent experiences with getting expensive cards sent from overseas and paying big dollars for shipping only to have them arrive damaged. The one I had today has made me seriously want to not bother with the hobby anymore. It arrived outside the toploader as it was unsecured and was bent in a couple of places (I mean why is it in a toploader in the first place? Magnetic one touch anyone?) check this out;

The Actual Card As Received Today ($40 dollar shipping to boot)

I have at least 5 other recent nominations for this and I am wondering if these sellers should be named and shamed? Or am I just being to picky? I would never sell a card that had damage of if I did I would be making sure the buyer knew.

Gah! Sorry to hear mate. After paying $40 postage I'd be livid if it turned up in that condition. At a guess it wasn't a cheap card either if the Payton is anything to go by, i'd be sending the seller the most vulgar email he's received in his life.

On the plus side you can get your money back and spend it on one of those fancy new Flawless patch autos, I've seen a couple really nice patches of Mully come up.

How are you going to deal with the situation?
It's a rarer card so you might feel you want to keep it instead of getting a full refund, but it was clearly damaged due to poor shipping and so the original price doesn't reflect what you thought you paying for.

This has happened to me once before and i asked for some compensation, which i felt a bit bad about as i know that might be a common scam in ebay (or some kind of bait and switch move - although the card in question was numbered so there was no arguing)

Anyway, i did get some compensation so that alleviated some of my distress.

If it was some other relatively common card, i'd be asking for a refund/return.

Mully, get a COMC mailbox bud.... the amount you just paid for shipping on one card will get you 10 from 10 diff sellers to your mailbox with enough change to then get them sent to you...

Can you send the Mullin back mate to get your money back?

Make no mistake this card is worthless now, both sentimentally and monetary. Two noticeable creases on the front and a chipped patch window are just too noticeable. I know the card is quite rare and the patch is the best I have seen of Mullin bar a logoman but that doesn't change the situation for me. The bloke still hasn't replied to my email from Thursday btw.

Even with COMC I don't risk the cards worth something without getting the express postage. I have never had a card not show up via COMC but a couple have taken in excess of 6 weeks to be delivered. The seller has no option other than to refund the cost of the card and postage, he broke the ebay rules plain and simple and he will be getting appropriate feedback as a result.

Did u get ur money back!
The card is listed again with the original scan showing no creases lol

I guess you could call it that, minus $60 in shipping! :( He recently emailed me and offered me $25 to remove the negative feedback I left him ha ha :lol:

I love this bit in the auction;

NO international orders, USA Shipping only

Pretty lame he is blaming international bidders on his own incompetence.

Cheers for letting me know mate, I have informed ebay of the cards "actual" condition so hopefully he has to pull this one.

What a scumbag def name and shame.

I have had the same problems with certain cards and sellers sending cards that were damaged and not being honest about it. Then they try to make you the suspect or the postal system. I am going loggerheads with a guy over a Rose RC at them with chipped BGS case and you cant really tell on the pic, then comc didnt pick it up and sent it on to me.

consignment seller. going to be hard to get through all the red tape
if we report the auction it will be taken down. but other than that they are too big to ban

Yeah he does alot of business for ebay and paypal so they will side with him anyday. Will put up my auction and cracked BGS case later from an american ebay seller.

Things like this in the hobby really shit me off.

not to picky at all mate , i dont get it if i was to sell a card like that i would understand its worth big $$ and hard to find , cards like this should be sent in a magnetic, i hope you left negative feedback and asked for some sort of refund, what a toss head
