Players who missed their chance...

John Rheinberger - played one NRL game - the 1975 Grand Final when the Roosters walloped the Dragons 38-0 (46-0 in today's money [tries were only 3 points]) and Langlands wore his infamous white boots.

My wife wants me to say every Parramatta halfback since Sterlo retired in 1992. I'm not saying she's bitter but...

I think his story falls more into the category "Cinderella story" couldn't make a 4th grade Rugby Union team same season plucked from obscurity and played in a winning GF.........

Your wife's a good judge although I wouldn't say they so much missed their chance just they have been crap compared to Sterlo.

What about Garrick Morgan as another who absolutely killed it in Rugby Union (voted best player in the world in 1993) came to league and was a massive disappoint for a total of 2 games.

Old Parra really needed to get Jason Taylor to play that extra season, he was outstanding in 2001 after such a disappointing season with the Northern Eagles in 2000, with regards to Garrick Morgan can anybody beat his record of having a footy card produced for the grand total of 2 games!.

Mick Bellew played rounds 1 & 3 for Parramatta in 74 and has a 75 card

I bet a few of the Holden Cup sigs from last year's Elite set never see first grade at all!

I was sorting through some mid 2000's cards this arvo and on one of the Logo cards was a list of contracted players and what stood out was Wycliff Palu, isn't he a Super 15 sort of star?.

Yeah one in the same person, signed with the Dragons around 2003 before returning to Union as far as I recall never played a First grade game.... at 6ft 4inch and 120 odd KG its a shame he didn't stick it out
