I'm bored so I'm going to pick a player from each team that I'm keen to see play/have a breakout season this coming season. Join in if you like! No set rules so they can be a rookie, have just got traded from a team you follow to a new team or whatever!

Atlanta Hawks
Boston Celtics
Brooklyn Nets
Charlotte Hornets
Chicago Bulls
Cleveland Cavaliers
Dallas Mavericks
Denver Nuggets
Detroit Pistons
Golden State Warriors
Houston Rockets
Indiana Pacers
LA Clippers

Milwaukee Bucks
Minnesota Timberwolves
New Orleans Pelicans
New York Knicks
Oklahoma City Thunder
Orlando Magic
Philadelphia 76ers

Portland Trailblazers
Sacramento Kings
San Antonio Spurs
Toronto Raptors
Utah Jazz
Washington Wizards

Atlanta Hawks - John Collins, Jeremy Lin
Boston Celtics - Gordon Hayward, Semi Ojeleye

Cleveland Cavaliers - Collin Sexton I guess???
Dallas Mavericks - DeAndre Jordan, Ryan Broekhoff
Denver Nuggets - Jamal Murray
Detroit Pistons - Reggie Jackson
Golden State Warriors - Jordan Bell, DeMarcus Cousins
Houston Rockets - Carmelo Anthony

Phoenix Suns - Devin Booker
Portland Trailblazers - Jusuf Nurkic, Maurice Harkless
Sacramento Kings - De'Aaron Fox, Harry Giles, Willie Cauley-Stein, Frank Mason III - I like the Kings young guys, the West is so strong I think they'll miss the playoffs again but count on their prospects, some card bargains may be had while everyone is looking at the Sixers, Celtics and Warriors imo
San Antonio Spurs - Dejounte Murray
Toronto Raptors - Kawhi Leonard
Utah Jazz - Dante Exum, Joe Ingles
Washington Wizards - Dwight Howard

Like 5 of these were tough to even pick a player from. DAMN there's some awful rosters out there. Like imagine having the Clippers as your home team/only tickets you could buy or afford in your area. That's a tough sell.

Yep I just wanted to see who people enjoy watching play or what rookies could be interesting etc!

Nice list too, i'd probably be interested in seeing how KPorz goes on the comeback too and how Elfrid Payton goes without all that hair whacking him in the face any more :woot:

Yes, I'm a tragic for a good redemption story which is why Isaiah Thomas, Chris Paul, Boogie, the Zinger, Blake and Jeremy Lin also made my list. Even Lonzo is almost hitting the 'he's so overrated he's underrated' class.
😁 I won't recognise him!

Nice idea Matt! @GarnettFan4Life

Atlanta Hawks - Trae Young and Tyler Dorsey with the big upside and expectations. Watching Vinsanity rust on the bench of a 25 win team!

Boston Celtics - Hayward / Tatum, interesting to see how they co-exist. Not enough basketballs to go around esp. with Kyrie out there too!

Brooklyn Nets - Good ol' Adelaide boy Mitch Creek in the unlikely event he makes it. Otherwise my man Spence DInwiddie! Treveon Graham as a dark horse to really emerge from the shadows. Can the Manimal maintain the rage in Brooklyn?

Charlotte Hornets - Tony Parker in a non-Spurs uniform playing backup minutes. WTH?!

Chicago Bulls - Make or break year for Denzel Valentine. Lavine highlight reels. Antonio Blakeney is the definition of instant offense, probably enjoy him tearing up the G-League instead though!

Cleveland Cavaliers - Cedi Osman to have a breakout season. Watching Kevin Love cry as he realises he's on Minnesota v2.0!

Dallas Mavericks - Seeing if Ryan Broekhoff can make any sort of impact - unlikely! Seeing if Dirk can still run and if Doncic is the next "great white hope".

Denver Nuggets - Isaiah Thomas, one guy I'd pay money to watch. Can my man Will Barton play the 3? Will Porter Jr ever actually play? Like Beasley, Juan on Juan but buried too deep on the bench. Hoping Monte Morris gets a chance to play some minutes...

Detroit Pistons - Um, Kennard?

Golden State Warriors - Quinn Cook working his way further into the rotation and Boogie Cousins reacting to the spotlight of being deep in the playoff picture and the #4? option on offense....

Houston Rockets - Will Carmelo finally bury his ego for the good of the team? Does he actually make the Rockets better?! Zhou Qi was once touted as a lottery pick and his shot blocking as a stretch 5 is intriguing, he'll spend time in the G-League though until he doesn't resemble Shawn Bradley in stature and can guard bigs 1 on 1.

Indiana Pacers - Tyreke Evans - can he replicate his form last year with the Grizz and help the Pacers become a CInderella playoff team?

LA Clippers - Teodosic making completing some whacky assists, insane court vision and basketball IQ. Pat Beverely is just flat out hustle and grind which I can appreciate and there's always Boban, he doesn't even have to do anything and he's still an entertaining cult hero!

LA Lakers - Paul George? Whoops, my bad... Kawhi? Whoops, too early... Jimmy Butler? Errr, still too early... This crowd is an absolute circus. Beasley, Rondo, McGee, the Lebron whisperer..... Not sure how even the King keeps this crowd under control. Will Lebron play at the 4 all season? Who's going to get the minutes at centre? McGee? Zubac has plenty of promise and Wagner showed some decent ability to switch off on smaller guys defensively but they're definitely a bit thin and short upfront.

Memphis Grizzlies - Watching Chandler Parsons slowly embrace the fact that he'll be receiving more boos from the home crowd than when he's away on road trips! Jaren Jackson Jr, how he co-exists with M Gasol. Seeing if Marshon Brooks can still light it up and if Wayne Selden ever actually converts some of that promise and summer league form into the regular season.

Miami Heat - Real sleeper of a rookie prospect, but Malik Newman is my guy! Buckets! Buckets! ...and then even more buckets! Most likely G-League but I likes his game a lot!

Milwaukee Bucks - The Fly Kicking Maker and Dirty Delly! hah hah, always good to follow the Aussies in action. Brandon McCoy is a real throwback traditional centre but still an outside shot to make it - the exact opposite of B Lo. Seeing if DiVencenzo can make soem highlight reels with that ridiculous vertical!

Minnesota Timberwolves - Jimmy Butler's frustrations with the post millenial stars! If they get the best out of second rounder Keita Bates-Diop he's capable of cracking the rotation, if Thibs actually decided to play rookies...

New Orleans Pelicans - I don;t even understand how this team begins to function or sort out its rotations... Okafor (the younger one) and Randle operate out of the low post and Mirotic has range and AD obviously runs the show. Payton and Holiday for an intriguing backcourt pairing, switch city! They finally added some range and scoring punch on the wings in Troy Williams and Trevon Blueitt. Not top tier guys, but Williams is a point per minute type of guy and Blueitt is a known shooter who tore it up in summer league.

New York Knicks - Mitchell Robinson looked like an absolute beast in summer league! Who emerges in the 3 way former lottery pick PG battle of Burke, Mudiay and Ntilikina. A make or break year for Super Mario Hezonja, last role of the dice for him!

Oklahoma City Thunder -
Orlando Magic -
Philadelphia 76ers -
Phoenix Suns -
Portland Trailblazers -
Sacramento Kings -
San Antonio Spurs -
Toronto Raptors -
Utah Jazz -
Washington Wizards -

You and your suspense! Waiting on the rest! :woot:

.......and the rest!

Oklahoma City Thunder - Seeing if they can get anything near the best of Nerlens Noel's potential. ...and how the heck they plan to use Schroder!

Orlando Magic -Mozgov! Just kidding, the Bamba, Gordon, Isaac frontline has serious lockdown potential. Who is actually going to log minutes at PG - Augustin? Jerian Grant?

Philadelphia 76ers - Fultz will either make or break this team. His emergence makes them a title contender and not a title pretender. Can he play off the ball with Simmons handling the rock? Will his jump shot ever come around? If not, good luck spacing the court with a Fultz / Simmons pairing!

Phoenix Suns - Predicting that Mikal Bridges will eat up the minutes of Josh Jackson. Will Devin Booker turn into a soft paycheck player? can Brandon Knight still even play?

Portland Trailblazers - Seth Curry looks like the third productive guard they needed. Anfernee Simons looks a real prospect. Still very thing up front, well even thinner now that Ed Davis moved on, so expect a breakout year for Zach Collins....

Sacramento Kings - The first ever all 7ft starting lineup consisting entirely of power forwards! Will Bagley ever develop that right hand?

San Antonio Spurs - QUINCY PONDEXTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can't keep a good man down! Watching as the Spurs finally fade back to into rebuilding mode. Can Derrick White or Lonnie Walker emerge in the minutes left by Manu.... Can Poeltl push Pau for starters minutes?

Toronto Raptors - Will Kawhi give 100% for the Raps as a one year rental? Where is his head at? Is he even the same player? THis soudns weird to say but I liek the backup PG situation in Toronto - all young guys with great upside; Delon wright, Van Vleet and now even Kay Felder...

Utah Jazz -Is Royce O'Nael for real? Grayson Allen starting some kind of all in brawl trying to find someone he can actually guard.... Hoping Georges Niang finally earns some regular season minutes (not likely) and Ricky Rubio with his flair for the occasional bout of brilliance....

Washington Wizards - Austin Rivers. How many minutes does he actually warrant without Daddy around? Will Dwight Howard be the missing piece they need to advance or the piece that ruins the locker room buzz?

You heard it here fist folks! Come and revisit in 12 months time!

New york: Kevin Knox will breakout to be rookie of the year his stats say it all

big call. i like the optimism though, he should surely get playing time with that roster!

I'm really curious to see how Doncic goes after the Euro experience. I'm hoping Bamba gets ROTY but not holding my breath, I think I'm gonna pick Marvin Bagley for ROTY.
