I would say I pack things pretty securely or as I would hope someone packaged my stuff. The simple way to keep everyone happy is to roll a tab on each piece of tape so there's a clear start point. I agree though some people do use a butt load of tape that seems to be the strongest tape in the world over the entire opening of a top loader that you turn your card into a Rubix cube to try and open without bending the fork out of the card trapped inside or denting the surface having to keep scratching at the tape to get a start. That being said I think I would prefer over packing than under packing.
At least the person went to effort to secure the card... it's then up to my reverse engineering skills haha. Good rant though and I am sure we have all nearly or actually fkd up a card or two when there's no easy start point.
