You should be able to stipulate the lowest grade you are willing to take to have the card slabbed but you still pay the same cost if it doesn't get slabbed. The cost is in evaluating the card. You may not have this option in a group submission.

I use auspost for comc. They do give a tracking number if you register it. It may even have tracking without registration.
