EBay Seller of the Month

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1975-Sc...435598?hash=item547f07448e:g:j7YAAOSwH9JePiDFSurley these are not near mint. Is this normal for CGA to class as NM.
Absolutely pathetic Grading. If i was to ever think of using CGA, definately not now. Some of these cards have creases in them, not to mention damaged. Conflict of interest at its best. Fair - Good condition at best. I would never buy a card graded by them, as it is obvious they are shonky as hell.

I know Craig quite well.Very well respected person. It,s not a shonky business. He puts a lot of time and effort into his grading business,as well as the other business he runs.He was at the last collector,s fair at Panthers,he had people lined up viewing his cards, and the feedback was very promising. You don,t have to get your cards graded by him,but please don,t bag a person you know totally nothing about.

I’m sure he’s a nice bloke, but when you grade cards like that you have to accept the criticism that comes with it.. we all know they are not even close to NM and certainly aren’t excellent either. The numbers might be closer but still higher than they should be but the EX/NM is crazy..

That card is fair at best..

You are best off letting him know that being shonky is NOT a good business practice.

I have an uncut sheet , I wonder what that would be graded at, Im rich, yeah.
I think what we have established is just because it is graded doesn't mean it makes you rich......probably poorer in fact at over $10 a card.

I would suggest that grading isn't overly popular in the NRL trading card world and would add no value to resale ( unless GEM MINT).

Greg Bandiera has a crease entirely across the card. That is S H O N K Y

Johhny Mayes is creased

Barry Reilly has pieces missing on the card.

Are the HAIRs inside the slab or outside.

I'm not sure why having a crease on the card makes it Shonky. If the said card was graded GEM MINT and had a score of 99.9 then I would agree but that is not the case it has been scored very low.

It appears as if the scaling for the grade applied doesn't match your expectation as @bigrob2307 has suggested it does seem that their scaling is different from other companies and out of whack but that doesn't make the business or the individual Shonky. If they consistently apply the same scale to every card it just make them different not Shonky.

Cheers
Ross

well put Ross,
I personally hate grading systems full stop.If you see pictures of a card or you can see it with your own eyes and you are happy to pay whatever the figure is to obtain that card, then why grade it anyway.
Everyones opinion of mint and average and poor are different.
I have been sent cards from a few newbies on here, their opinion was as close to mint.
When I got them I was so pissed off, I let them know.
