The Australian cricket non-official thread!

What a wonderful result!

I thought we could take a test but I didn't think it would be the first one, pressure squarely on India now as we hold the trophy.

Great to see the Aussies play tough, desperate cricket. All of the boys were dirty from diving in the field or when taking runs.

Great running between the wickets and strike rotation, learning to play each ball on it's merits and not just playing for the spinning ball was a great game plan and certainly appears to have been hammered into the boys.

In Sri Lanka HERATH was just bowling nudies that went on and because we kept playing for the spin we got in trouble.

Behrendorff with another 5-for in the second innings to finish with match figures of 14/89! Great win by the Warriors over the top team :)

My goodness, take a bow Nathan "Garry" Lyon. Your 8/50 today is the sixth best innings bowling performance for Australia in Test cricket! A remarkable performance on a first-day wicket.

Fair effort that from Garry. To bowl India out for less than 200 on what was reported as a pretty flat pitch is outstanding. Now it's time to bat... and bat... and bat... and bat... for as long as we can!

It can turn (pardon the pun mate!) so quickly on those wickets, that it wouldn't surprise me if India were bowled out for under 200 again. Lyon looks threatening again, although he will need help from someone to a. keep the pressure on and b. chip in with regular wickets.

It has been a wonderful Test match so far, hasn't it? I wonder what India will feel comfortable with...maybe a lead of 150?

I can't help but think that the lapses from Renshaw, Handscomb and Shaun Marsh might end up proving costly, as harsh as that may seem.

I think if we can bowl India out for under 200 again we are certainly in with a massive chance. All we need is Renshaw to block everything from one end and Dave Warner to bat at a 100 strike rate from the other and it's in the bag haha :p

I might be going the early crow, but I can't see Australia getting out of this. The bowling has been a touch ragged today and it is highly unlikely that India will give away as many legside runs in Australia's second innings.

That said, the fight from the visitors has been outstanding....it just seems to be in a losing cause this time around.

In other news, Patrick Cummins makes his very-long awaited return to Sheffield Shield cricket tomorrow. Let's just hope the sports scientists are locked in the toilet cubicle for the duration of the match!

Those 4 quick wickets we lost this morning were a massive momentum shift. I felt that Starc and Wade were comfortable and could have easily knocked the ball around until lunch for another 30 runs but we lost 4/10.

Unfortunately I can't see us chasing less than 200 and this will be a huge task. If we lose this test we lose the series 3-1

Well, India won the day for the first time in the series. If you said before the series that the first day they won would be Day 3 of the Second Test, you'd have been looked at very weirdly.

Still, we're in a bit of strife, but not yet out of the game I feel. We know how quickly wickets can fall. India could be bowled out with a lead of 150 tomorrow morning, or we could be chasing 300. The first session tomorrow is going to be absolutely critical.
