I thought it was time that the most dominant team of the decade had their own dedicated thread!!!:D

The Lakers are 5-0 and smashed the Rockets yesterday...it was awesome to watch.

They are soooo deep this season....Odom would start on most teams...all the players are contributing. Bynum is back and looks like he will be a key this season.

I know it's only early...but let's jump on board the Lakers bandwagon early this season and ride this sucker all the way the Celtics to the Championship!!!:worthy::worthy::worthy::worthy:

Odom would start on any team in the league if the Lakers didn't have one of the best dual frontcourts in the league, with All-Star Pau Gasol and soon to be All-Star Andrew Bynum (although rough start for him).

Remember when Odom teamed with Wade to lead Heat to the playoffs in 2004, he was averaging 17 and 10 and was the go-to-guy.

He still has the ability, shame about his circumstances though.

Great start by LA though!

I have watched all the games this season and im really excited about this roster.

YAY a laker thread :)
we are looking so good this year not really in the first half, there bench is really good with farmar and ariza dont forget lamar im so pumped for this season.

Ariza and Farmar are guns coming of the bench.

Ariza is a real livewire.

Ariza brought us back into the game yesterday, had the crowd firing. I knew the Rockets couldn't run with our bench and that's the main reason we got back in after some sloppy play in the first, Farmar who's playing up to the level I knew he could and Ariza really lifting his game. Beating teams by 20+ isn't just outscoring them, I think our defence has well and truly elevated and it doesn't hurt having Bynum back, stay healthy young fella!

Two big tests coming up - in Dallas and in New Orleans. Defending home is all good but we gotta take this show on the road, regaurdless if we beat the Clippers in an 'away' game and took care of Denver, we know how to do that after last seasons first round of the playoffs.

Looking forward to the Lakers/Pistons game, at home too and the first Laker game televised here! Should be a good one. :)

Ariza is a sick athlete.

Farmar is the mann, he's gonna take over just fine when Fish is gone.

What about Vujacic!
Well ya gotta love Vuyacic he is also a real livewire and always seems to hit the shots when we need them.

Excellent point Oz, that is the most exciting thing about the first 5 games IMO...our D has been outstanding. Holding 4 teams to under 90 will get the job done most nights when the offense isn't firing. Pau looks much better at the 4 with Bynum backing him up. The second unit look fantastic, led by Odom. Sad thing is that Luuuuke can't find any time on the floor.

Let's all take a deep breath, enjoy the style of play the Lakers are presenting, and just see what the season brings.

:D

the lakers will win it this season... but I'm still rooting for the blazers. haha!

lakers are too strong and too deep. seriously.. they need to give some players to the bobcats and okc.

I can't wait for Farmar to take over at the PG position, I think he would avg. about 15 ppg and 6 or 7 apg plus a steal and a block, plus 2.5 3p's per game! Sounds about right!!! Go Lakers stay undefeated!!!!!

I'd say he wouldn't get close to those stats in the starting lineup. The offence of the first unit is run through Kobe, not Fisher, so his assists won't be that high IMO.

Well he'd put up Fisher's stats at least if not better.

I disagree. No assist is given for passing to Kobe, only for him to create off the dribble. The second unit need a spark plug, and Farmar is the perfect fit. We're going to have some huge 2nd quarters this year with a solid bench...putting the best 5 players on the court at the same time is not always the best for team structure.

Exactly, triangle offence doesn't award the point gaurd in the assists department, assists are spread around pretty evenly. No Laker is averaging over 4 per game but the majority of them (mainly the starters) are getting 2 or 3 and that's just how it is and how it's supposed to be. As long as Fish is around Farmars fine where is right now cause that bench is just as solid as alot of first teams. Farmars time will come, hope Mitch see's that and keeps a short leash on him.

New Orleans here we come! :p

Oh and nice win to the guy who backed 6+ points!

I'm not saying he should start now or will.

I'm just saying if he started, in the place of Fish, he'd put up better numbers.
