Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. 6/10

DiCaprio and Pitts acting carried this wishy washy movie all the way to quintessential Taratino in the last 20minutes of the movie.
They performed brilliantly in this, but the story line just doesn't hold a lot of weight.
It had some special moments, the Bruce Lee scene, the trailer-room introspective, tv aerial repair flashback, but for the most part I felt lost with where the movie was going. Some people say that is Tarantino brilliance, but its not the type of movie that made him a legend.

Spent $25 a seat in gold lounge for this. Recommend just waiting till its on VHS.

Perfectly summed up. I came out of the movie thinking "what was it about?"

John Wick 3 - 6/10 - kind of enjoyed it but kind of wish they’d left it at 2? Not sure.

Deadwood Movie - 5/10 - was ready to give 7/10 purely for the hype factor of seeing some more after all these years then realised they should’ve actually done another full season and even Timothy Olyphant said he was worried about trying to finish it off justly in just a movie. So screw them.

Just finished watching The Matrix trilogy again. Mixed feelings also about hearing a fourth is coming. Guess no one can resist the money!

No one can resist the money: is there a common theme here...

Maxtrix, bill & ted, john wicks...

Rocketman: 7/10

Enjoyed the first hour and a half thoroughly, ending felt like it was rushed badly

Totally agree! Was thinking what other movies I'd seen and forgot Rocketman. Thought it could've been a way longer movie to be better paced. Didn't live up to the Bohemian Rhapsody-like expectations, which reminds me;

Bohemian Rhapsody - 8/10 - really enjoyed this - watched out of curiosity and a slight feeling of nostalgia with my oldies not expecting much at all.

Ma :2/10 maaaaybe 3/10
Strange...just strange.
Some amusing use of an iron, paint, needle and thread, but domestic skills aside this was nonsense.
Moral of the story - wait til you're old enough to buy your own alcohol.
Don't knob someone off at school.
Don't play with strangers.
That's all that can be taken away from this.

Us: 6.5/10
I recently re-watched this.
If you didn't like Get Out, you probably won't like this either. But I enjoyed both,
I have a strange sense of humour and some parts of this had me in stitches laughing. Great use of an NWA track which was my main source of laughter.
It's predictable most of the way but then you get hit with a WTF.
A bit creepy, a bit corny, a bit funny and an overall headfk. Worth a watch

Wu Tang Clan - Of Mics and Men : 5/10
Not a movie but something I had been meaning to watch for ages and just never got around to it until recently.
Dunno what I was expecting but whatever it was, went undelivered.
I binged all eps and wasn't really overlyimpressed at all. I am a Wu fan but this just didn't hit the mark for me.
Insightful at moments with the back stories of all the clan, some behind the scenes issues etc.
At the end of the series all I could think is how any of them still talk to RZA, him and his brother pretty much fkd the rest of the clan over. You see warts and all some simmering/lingering tensions between certain members but still cool to see them come together for this.
It's neither here nor there but watchable if you like Wu Tang Clan. Be interested to know how anyone else felt about this series.

X-Men Dark Phoenix - 7.5/10 - filled in a lot of gaps from other movies - entertaining - love Turner, McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence - huge cast, watched with my 10 year old daughter who was asking questions about characters and other movies so I thought I'd google the order to watch the movies after......wow. try and explain that lol. figure we'll just end up watching in some kind of order and enjoying the action over school holidays.

the new movies and the first three dont really belong together, so viewing order depends on which plot path youd prefer...

Yeah, one site had Deadpool 1 & 2 in the "order to watch" and I don't think they're suitable lol, or should be there. Then I read about the other future movie plans and it's all oing to be trying to pick like 7 of them if that works out to be the best way to go.

Watched X-Men : First Class today and loved it. 8/10.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood - 7/10. not the greatest, but back to his earlier style to some extent at least.
JoJo Rabbitt - 8/10. the accents are all terrible, but i think they leaned into it well. and as a german i can say that the feel/attitudes of the characters are very accurate. funny movie.
El Camino - 6/10. an obvious fan service to give a resolution to the jesse story. not bad, but kinda needless.
3 From Hell - 6/10. not as good as the first two, but if you like the series its good enough.

Crawl nice indie type giant alligator movie, some stupid parts but overall great
Tour De Pharmacy awesome pisstake on the Tour de France (if you like this watch 7 days in hell) has Andy Sam burg, John cena and others
Annabelle comes home - boring as hell not scary either what a let down as I have enjoyed the others

Ready or Not - 6/10. pretty silly, but entertaining enough for a comedy/horror...
Joker - 6/10. sometimes i really bought joaquin as a joker and other times not so much. alright movie tho.
Noelle - 4/10. finally! proof that women can be santa too.
Harriet - 7/10. legendary, inspiring, kick-ass woman. alright movie.
Dolemite Is My Name - 7/10. nice to see eddie murphy back. nice to learn about a new awesome 'B-movie' star. some pretty funny moments.
Between Two Ferns - 7/10. never seen the show. wasnt sure how it could be a movie. but it was funny.
Of Mics & Men - 6/10. not bad, but really only watched to see if it had any new ODB stuff. wu-tang as a group always seemed over-rated to me.
ESPN 30 for 30: Deion's Double Play - 8/10. one of my all time fave athletes. the story of his football/baseball weekend. amazing achievement.

The Irishman - 9/10. a scorcese gangster film with deniro, pacino and pesci? im in. doesnt disappoint. about the philly families (who are under-represented in film) and their alleged part in jimmy hoffa's vacation.
Lucy in The Sky - 6/10. was expecting something more thought provoking and it was just a love story with a crazy astronaut chick.
Jumanji II - 5/10. weird watching the characters all try and act like the other characters. the rock's devito accent is laughable but kevin hart's danny glover impersonation is probably the best thing ive ever seen him do. overall its pretty lame tho.
Zombieland 2 - 6/10. not a bad sequel. you get what you expect.
Doctor Sleep - 6/10. never realised that he wrote this sequel to the shining a few years back. im sure the book will be much better...
Mob Town - 4/10. maybe 'the irishman' had my standards up, but this seemed reeeeally bad.

Once upon a time in hollywood: 7/10, bonus 2 points for the last 20 odd minutes. Don’t know why half the story was in there

Irishman: 8/10, watched it over 2 days. Was pretty decent

Zombieland 2: 9/10. Loved the first one and this was more of the same. You pretty much know what you’re going to get with this one
