This is taken from the Privacy Policy from Vrane (the sniper I use).

As soon as the required task, either bid sniping or schedule auction launching, is finished your password (and your eBay id) is deleted from the system.
Your password is never stored on this web server.
Been using since ??? and I havent had a problem yet.

Also, with regards to the no International bidders, if you're on ebay.com.au if you search intl items, then anything in there ships intl....

It would only be an item on ebay.com (or other) that does not list as shipping worldwide, that may deter a bid. I have not seen this yet.

What do you mean by how good are they? You mean, how reliable are the programs? They are very reliable in my experience. But it's been pointed out before, it doesn't matter if you have a snipe program, you just put your best price out there, and if someone was willing to pay more, it wouldn't have mattered if you sniped or not. You have to set the amount that you want to snipe at e.g. $9.99, if someone bid $10.00 then you would have lost anyway.

your snipe goes to the maximum it takes to win the card within your maximum bid..so if u are bidding on a card thats $15 and your max snipe is $30 then it will snipe what ever the next increment so you'd pay 16.50....its exactly like bidding yourself...like i said before...its a "proxy" bidder.

sorry, i didn't really explain my position on the whole thing.

i didn't use a snipe program this morning when i was winning the 2 items. i put my highest bids in however in the last second got outbid on each by a dollar. had to have been a snipe program used against me on both auctions.

Don't really trust those privacy statements. Oh yeah, most likely you got sniped. It's usually pretty obvious when you check the bidding history. Not many people can manually get in a bid within 3 seconds of auctions closing consistently.

Yeah Gary, you were sniped mate.

As long as they get it set, and it's higher than the max bidder when it's placed, they'll more than likely win.

I've been out sniped after I had a snipe! I was high bidder for about 4 seconds, until the other one jumped in with 2 seconds left.... OUCH.

That's not really relevant with Vrane, you don't have to install anything, everything is based on their servers.

I see what you're saying, but yeah, not relevant.

Yeah, it was more relevant to the snipe programs which requires a download/installation...but yeah, all I'm trying to say is that those Privacy Statements are far from being reassuring, IMO
