Please list if you have a head-set to play with, always better with a mic & speakers!!!

Players will then be placed into a Playoff Tree as follows:

Winner 1 VS 3 Plays Winner 2 VS 4

Winner 5 VS 7 Players Winner 6 VS 8

Both Winners advance.

Just a couple suggestions;

How about 8 minute quarters, 7 minimum, drag the fatigue sliders up a little that way bench play becomes necessary. Also, could take a look at ALO's rules page to bring a little sportsmanship into it and less run and gun style. Hopefully everyone playing wants to play real NBA ball anyway...

Ultimately it's your call Taz, but would be good if everyone played a certain style without abusing flaws in the game. To be honest I don't know what to expect, what everyones style of play is etc etc

Off topic, I've been playing Team up a fair bit, can be heaps of fun if everyones on the same page. We should organise a few games with OCT members...

I'm open to suggestions, I thought 5 min quarters was OK, I had planned on 8, but didnt know what others thought.

I checked out those ALOs rules. They seem pretty poor, or sissy rules.

No using 1 player, no driving, faking and scoring?? No defending with 1 player all the time?

I'm always for sportsmanship, but you can't take TOO much out of it, as it no longer becomes a game, you know?

I always share my load, unless I have someone streaking or heating up.

I forgot to suggest slowing the game speed down, so there's no fast breaks in 2-3 seconds.

No using 1 player
- In the sence that try and spread your scoring around, it's no fun for T-Mac to go for 70 points while Yao and Artest fail to get 10 between them. 3 to 5 players in double figures on 7 minute quarters was the aim there. If people play like the game is really played, that shouldn't be a problem.

no driving, faking and scoring??
- No, in the sence of driving in, head faking five or six times and then getting easy buckets. It was mainly introduced because that's all some people would do and it get's a little old. Driving and faking is all good, as long as it's not abused over and over again for easy buckets.

No defending with 1 player all the time?
- With that one, the aim is to D up the ball handler. So for example if it was Lakers vs Celtics, and Rondo had the ball, you'd be controlling Fisher rather than roaming free gaurding the paint with Garnett, where as if Garnett recieved the ball from Rondo, you'd switch from Fisher to Gasol. Get me? It's just something else that can get exploited, constant double teams, constant roaming free while the AI plays the defence. Also, on a side note, full court presses are never run from start to finish, only used for momentum, to get back in the game etc That's another style of D that get's abused, 24/7 full court presses, and just another rule introduced to keep it realistic..

- That's basically the main point, you can drop 25 to 35 with Melo if your having a nice night shooting from outside/getting to the hole, but once you start getting beyond 45 on 7 minute quarters, fatigue on and bench necessary, it get's a little over done. 7 minute quarters should see around 60 to 80 points per team roughly, if Denver score a combined total of say 78 and Melo has 47, that leaves 31 points spread over 9 odd players, which isn't very realistic, regaurdless of whether Kobe scored 81.

But let's not forget, with some peoples styles of play, this game can become less of the game it is - Basketball. That's why those rules were followed, to keep it as realistic as possible and less like NBA Jam. Were playing a basketball sim afterall. After 2 seasons there I had heaps more fun as opposed to slugging it out with hacks on the EA servers for Live.

I'm not saying this is how you play Taz and if it is then that's all good man, if that's how you play then that's fine, you bought the game. Those rules were based on league play, simulating the game style of the NBA and so everyone would enjoy themselves playing how it's played. I thought if were going to have a Tourney, it might not be a bad idea to introduce some sort of expected style of play.

But hey, I'll play however people come at me if there's no 'official' code of gameplay so it's all good, was just a few suggestions.

Ha ha, no need to explain, I knew what they meant, I was taking the piss out of them, like why have them at all?

I've played against people who only used Lebron, and tried to steal each and every inbound pass I had. I had to play smart, that's all.

It's still open for discussion, nothing's set, so we can fine-tune this sucka how we please, just to make it enjoyable all around. Except for Ducky when I beat him.... (if we meet)...

how do i find the tournament? i play at night 2k9, i played this guy today who was a horrible player- used Tmac the whole game, constantly drived to the hoop, dunking etc, never took an outside shot - absolute ass on defense
he would constantly double team when someone gets the ball.

Sounds like you needed to shut down T-Mac. Start hitting the open jumper when you break his double teams.
