Yep - eBay sales I believe. Theres one person on this site I know who keeps a record of Jordan insert prices that may go back further but I don't know whether he shares his info. I'm sure he will see this and will comment if he feels he wants to

Of course it is up to that collector if he wants to share that information he has gathered. No one can force him to.

At the end of the day, BV (Beckett Value) really means sweet FA. If the market is only paying $30-$70 for a card, then that is what a card is worth and is it's true value, regardless of if the people at Beckett says it is valued at $150BV.

It's unfortunate but there are plenty of guys here who would have paid top dollar for cards back in the "hey day" and to come back into it now and find those high dollar cards are now not selling for anywhere near those heights in these days of the internet and eBay. Its up to the individual collector whether they sell or hang onto it.

I've got an old Beckett here with a Grant Hill Finest RC Refractor with a BV of $1200. If I had brought one back in those days, I would've paid a small fortune - nowadays the card sells for between $80 & $130. Unfortunately that is the reality of collecting and buying and selling of goods. You could hang onto the card into the future and hope it jumps in price again. But once again, up to the individual. Noone really knows what is going to happen to the price of cards.

Just ask Chad who paid some big bickies for Eric Montross Rookie cards back in 1994
