Hi everyone,

Was at the PO today and saw the flyer for it. Think its a great idea!

What is a Parcel Locker?

It's a convenient new way to receive parcels. Now, when you make an online order instead of having a parcel delivered to your home, you can have it delivered to one of our secure, 24-hour Parcel Lockers, to pick up anytime it suits you. It's easy, simply register for this free service today.
Please note that from 1 January 2013, Australia Post will not accept domestic or international parcels from other carriers into our Parcel Lockers, unless those parcels are lodged by the carriers as Australia Post articles addressed to the recipients' Parcel Lockers. StarTrack is a subsidiary of Australia Post, and parcels carried by StarTrack will be accepted for delivery into Parcel Lockers.
Where possible, customers are advised to check which shipping partners or parcel delivery provider/s are available on the website they're buying from.
How does a Parcel Locker work?

Step 1. Register
Register for free. Select your nearest Parcel Locker location when registering and receive your unique Parcel Locker Customer ID.
When you register you will receive a Parcel Locker address and your unique Parcel Locker Customer ID.
Step 2. Shop online
Shop online using your Parcel Locker address as your delivery address, e.g.
Jane Smith
Parcel Locker C123456
66 St Georges Terrace
Perth WA 6000

For your security, when your parcel arrives we validate your name and Parcel Locker Customer ID before we email and text you a unique secure access code.
Step 3. Collect
When you arrive to collect your parcel simply key in your Parcel Locker Customer ID followed by the access code for this delivery and a locker door will swing open. Your parcel will be inside.

Please note: if you have been using one of our initial trial locations' Parcel Lockers, your collection process will remain the same. You will still be issued with a locker number and access code to collect your parcel.

What details will you need to provide to register?

We'll need your name, address, email and mobile number.
What can be delivered to a Parcel Locker?

You can send any parcel to you 24/7 Parcel Locker, except for:
  • Letters and standard mail
  • Express Post letters
  • Parcels that are bigger than our biggest locker (41cm x 38cm x 64cm)
  • Parcels that are heavier than 16kg
  • Parcels containing perishables
  • Parcels containing alcohol
  • Parcels that require proof of identity
  • Parcels where there is a payment required on delivery
  • Parcels sought to be delivered by other carriers that have not been lodged as Australia Post articles
Can carriers other than Australia Post deliver parcels to a Parcel Locker?

Australia Post will not accept domestic or international parcels from other carriers into our Parcel Lockers from 1 January 2013, unless those parcels have been lodged by the carriers as Australia Post articles addressed to the recipients' Parcel Lockers.
StarTrack is a subsidiary of Australia Post, and parcels carried by StarTrack will be accepted for delivery into Parcel Lockers.
Where possible, customers are advised to check which shipping partners or parcel delivery provider/s are available on the website they're buying from.
If the other carriers choose not to lodge the parcels addressed to recipient's Parcel Lockers as Australia Post articles, those carriers will need to contact the recipient or sender to organise an alternative delivery address.
How do we know when your parcel has been collected?

When you register, you agree that delivery of your parcel will not require a signature. Instead, your use of the one-off access code will prove your acceptance (and the delivery of) your parcel.

When I signed up, as part of the terms and conditions i waived the right to sign for things once they hit the box.

Im going to try it out with a few items locally to see how it goes!

Sounds like a plan, so how much does it cost to have the actual box?

As far as I know its free......you dont pay for it, its just another way to get your item!

Sorry to bump an old thread, but are there any issues for selling (on Ebay) and posting to these Parcel Lockers, for PayPal's Seller Protection policies...???

Just to answer my own question above, and in case anyone else has the same question, but YES. Confirmed via Ebay that so long as we can provide tracking details to where the parcels are sent (to the Parcel Locker) then that is enough to cover us with Seller's Protection.
